Battleface, a travel insurance startup based in Colombus, Ohio, recently raised $12 million in a Series A funding round backed by Duolingo investor Drive Capital. 

Amid the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the travel insurance industry is forecast to keep growing over the next decade, with experts predicting a market value of almost $40 billion by 2027. 

Battleface creates, distributes and services specialty travel insurance products for audiences in both retail and wholesale.

The firm’s CEO Sasha Gainullin previously developed global operations for AIG Travel Guard and has worked with Battleface since its inception.
