Cube raise the funds in a Series B round that was led by Battery Ventures, which has previously invested in firms like Coinbase and Skullcandy. Mayfield Fund, Bonfire Ventures, and Operator Collective also backed the round.
“In today’s market, cash and runway are key to survival—and both require quick action and extensive, holistic planning,” said Christina Ross, CEO & cofounder of Cube. “But CFOs lack the basic tools to move fast, which can make or break a company.”
Ross said the company’s tech “augments” the traditional spreadsheet with a “purpose-built” financial planning and analysis platform. As a result, customers can plan for the unexpected and make better decisions now instead of waiting for years down the line, she said.
Cube will use the new funds to invest in hiring and further go-to-market plans. The company will also speed up its product development. Michael Brown, the general partner of Battery Ventures, will join Cube’s board of directors.
Brown said Cube was “precisely” what finance leaders needed to act during this period of market uncertainty.
