WorkMotion, a Berlin-based HR startup, recently raised $50 million in a Series B funding round backed by Canaan Partners.
The COVID-19 pandemic appears to have changed the nature of office work for good, with more employees working from home or abroad, and employers seeking out talent beyond their borders.
Founded in 2020, WorkMotion helps businesses to hire and onboard employees around the world and enables employers to more easily navigate overseas regulations.
The firm was cofounded by Carsten Lebtig, a former McKinsey associate and general manager at Uber, alongside business partners Karim Zaghoul and Felix Steffens.
Launched against the backdrop of the remote-work revolution, WorkMotion’s latest funding round more than doubles the amount raised in its Series A last August ($24 million), bringing the total amount the firm has raised to date to $76 million.
As well as Canaan, the firm won the backing of VCs at Activant Capital, XAnge, Picus Capital, Heliad Equity Partners, and GR Capital.
